Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff,
I hope everyone is staying warm during these chilly winter days!
I wanted to take this opportunity to remind families to use caution when driving on our main campus, especially during the winter months, and obey the speed limit of 15 mph. Safety is our top priority. We are addressing safety concerns with students walking on campus and reminding everyone to use sidewalks. Snowbanks on campus may reduce visibility. Some students may be trying to find quicker routes during the cold weather and this can be hazardous if drivers are not using caution and obeying the speed limit.
We are also addressing safety concerns in the Word of Life/WOLCA parking lot. When students or family members take shortcuts through the parking lot it creates safety issues for the Word of Life/WOLCA students and families. We need to all work together to keep everyone safe.
Our SROs also want to remind parents and community members that no vehicles are allowed in the C.W. Baker High School bus circle between 3:15 p.m. and 4 p.m. on school days. The bus circle is one way. Also, if a school bus is on campus with its red lights and stop sign activated, vehicles must stop.
Our ongoing construction projects at our schools include plans to address traffic concerns, improve student drop-offs/pick-ups and increase pedestrian safety. As those projects are underway, we ask for the community’s help to keep everyone safe on and around our school campuses. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
