8th Grade NY State Testing Information

Good Afternoon Durgee Families,

We wanted to send out some details about the upcoming State Testing protocols for 8th graders here at Durgee. Please read the following information carefully.

WHEN and WHO?

• May 5 & 6 - ELA (All 8th grade students)

• May 8 - Science (Non-regents 8th grade students)

• May 12 & 13 - Math (Non-regents 8th grade students)

• Makeups will be held the Friday following the testing days

WHERE?

• All Testing will be done in the building either in the Gym or in various classrooms throughout Durgee.

Daily Schedule:

• Students will enter the building as normal and proceed to their Period 1 (Bee Time) classrooms.  

• Testing will be held during periods 2 & 3 during the day wherein students will move directly from bee time to their assigned testing locations.  

• Students will sit for the entirety of periods 2 & 3 and if they are finished by the end of period 3 will be dismissed at the bell to move on to the rest of their day as normal. 

• Students who have not finished in the given time frame will be moved to an extended time room and will be allowed to finish as they need.

Key items:

Students will be testing on their district chromebook devices PLEASE be sure to have these devices fully charged the night before.
