Opening Day Reminders

Durgee Families,

Classrooms are being decorated,  halls are being swept, walls are being painted.  We are alive with activity here at Durgee as we prepare to open our doors to our incredible incoming students.

Some quick reminders as we prepare for Day 1 on Tuesday 9/8:

Student Entry:

Our doors open to students at 7:20 AM.  Any students who arrive prior to 7:20 can wait at the doors until the building opens up.

Student will enter through threat detection each morning. It is very important that they prepare their belongings in such a way that we don't create bottlenecks during entry.  Students should remove their Chromebooks from their backpacks along with any other items that would flag.  These items include: umbrellas, large water bottles, calculators, eyelash curlers, etc. Students should take these items out of their backpacks for visual inspection prior to entering the lines for entry.

ID Badges:

Students will be issued an ID Badge during Bee Time on the first day of school.  It is expected that all students wear their IDs on their person during the day including during entry.  For the safety and security of all of our students we will be asking every student to show their school ID at entry so please remind your students to have it on before leaving for school in the morning. 

Verification reports

On the first day of school we will send our Annual Student Verification Forms home with your student. Please look over the printed information and make any changes or corrections, if necessary. In addition, please add emergency contacts located at the bottom of the form.  This information is updated yearly.   Once you have completed the form, please have your student return it to their homeroom advisor.

School portrait days will come up quickly so save the dates:

• Wednesday September 30th

• Thursday October 1st

• Make Up Day - Thursday, November 5th
